Continuity assessment - part 1

I found that the first part of my continuity assessment went better than my design had in practice. I was much happier with the end result and got it done comfortably in the time limit.
I started by putting a mix of white and yellow aqua colour through my model's hair, back combed it a little and then left it to dry slightly so that I could style it at the end. Next, I checked for any blemishes - my model had none, so I did not use any concealer. I decided against using foundation as I did not want the skin to look flawless or perfect. I applied two layers of liquid latex to the forehead, temples and sides of the nose and mouth, wrinkling it as it set to create creases in the skin. I powdered it and blended the edges with acetone. To enhance the aged effect, I used a dark concealer (D10) on a flat brush to fill in and darken the 'wrinkles' and frown-lines. I powdered my model's whole face to make it look dry and slightly paler, then I ran some white and black Supra-Colour through the eyebrows and any facial hair. I used shade 101 from the Kryolan blush palette to hollow the cheekbones and down the neck. Following a real image of a black eye, I used the dark red, blue, purple, yellow and black Supra-Colours to create bruising around one eye, blending it to look more realistic, and leaving it un-powdered so that it would remain shiny, like a real bruise. I applied a little yellow Supra-Colour mixed with D1 concealer to the other eye to implicate jaundice. I then created a cut on the lower cheek below the black eye - applying wax, smoothing it with a palette knife, setting it with liquid latex, dusting some Youth Red and 665G blusher shades over it, and filling it with black and dark red Supra-Colour and a little false blood. Finally, I dabbed a bit of liquid latex on to the lips, rubbing it as it dried to look like dry, flaky lips. I carefully took individual bits of hair and placed them in different positions around the head, so that I can easily replicate it in the second half of my assessment.
On reflection, it is clear that my application of liquid latex could have been better. The edges of the layers are visible and it looks a little powdery. Despite that, I am happy with the outcome and think it will not be too difficult to recreate for continuity. I took lots of photos as I worked, as well as high quality ones at the end, so I have lots of images and notes to work from.
